When I was researching for my book I found that health and nutrition experts agree that fiber is a critical key to losing weight and avoiding health problems including high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
Back in 1998 I contacted Norma, a nurse in Iowa who graduated from the same college I did, California State in California, Pennsylvania, (Don't ask me why there's a California, Pennsylvania but there is). I was recommending a natural fiber product that lowered cholesterol. Norma's friend's from nursing school lived in Plano, Texas and her husband agreed to try it because his cholesterol was 263. Now, I did not tell him to stop using his prescribed statin drugs, just to add the natural fiber. He was 70 years old and kept taking his drugs and after using the fiber product along with his drugs for only 30 days his cholesterol dropped to 157. Then his doctor said that the drugs he had been prescribing for a year must have finally kicked in so Mr. Dumb S- - t quits the fiber product and his cholesterol goes back up to 250. True story!
There's a fiber chart in my book but try eating a banana, apple or pear every day. Most 7-11 stores have these two for a dollar bags of peanuts which also have both fiber & protein and I personally drink these Fitsmart shakes that have both fiber & protein.
